The interface of this IC is reset normally and the master device can make normal communication if phase adjustment is performed, even when the power-on operation condition of this IC is not fulfilled. ABLIC's RTCs initializes at the same time when the power supply voltage is raised. If the rise time and voltage are specified in the datasheet, power on the RTCs according to the rise time and voltage.

The function of clock correction is to correct advance / delay of the clock due to the deviation of oscillation frequency, inorder to make a high precise clock. For correction, this IC adjusts the clock pulse by using a certain part of the dividing circuit, not adjusting the frequency of the quartz crystal. It's possible. Please set 32kHz output by register setting. Alternatively, we also have the S-35192/S-35392, which always output 32kHz when the power is turned on.

Cg is recommended from none to 9.1pF.The crystal oscillation circuit operates even when Cg is not connected. Note that the oscillation frequency is in the direction that it advances.Please note that Cg over 9.1pF may cause unstable oscillation operation.

When using the quartz crystal with a CL exceeding the rated value (7 pF) (e.g: CL = 12.5 pF),oscillation operation may become unstable. Use a quartz crystal with a CL value of 6 pF or 7 pF.

There is no RTC with built-in quartz crystal.Although it is not RTCs, we have a wake-up timer IC with a built-in quartz crystal and a convenience timer IC for automotive applications. Please consider depending on the usage situation.

There is no backup battery connect pin.Even without this pin, by inserting a diode between the main battery and the sub battery as shown in the link below, unnecessary consumption/discharge of the sub battery can be suppressed and the battery can be switched safely.
