Introduction – Automotive Real-time Clocks (RTCs)

The automotive real-time clock achieves longer battery life due to 0.25µA low current consumption.

1. Low current consumption of 0.25μA

ABLIC's real-time clock achieves longer battery life by ultra-low current consumption of 0.25µA. The system standby current during engine shutdown can be significantly reduced.
Normally, power supply is supplied from the 12V auxiliary battery to the real-time clock via our LDO, etc. As with real-time clock for General use, it is also possible to connect a coin battery or rechargeable battery directly to the real-time clock and operate it.
This supports backup measuring time when the 12V auxiliary battery is attached or detached.

2. High-accuracy clock correction, minimum resolution of 1ppm

The frequency deviation of a quartz crystal can be corrected over a wide range with high accuracy at a  minimum resolution of 1ppm. By combining the real-time clock with a temperature sensor IC, the value of clock correction can be set according to the temperature change, enabling accurate correction if the clock becomes fast or slow.

3. 8-Pin SOP and 8-Pin TSSOP packages available

ABLIC's automotive real-time clock adopts standard gull-wing shaped 8-Pin SOP and 8-Pin TSSOP packages marked by excellent mountability.Automotive RTC package list
