Evolutionary Connection Diagnostics
The S-19701 is our single chip solution with integrated 600mA power supply, antenna connection diagnosis and multiple protection functions to support modern high current applications.
S-19682/3 series are a 1-channel high-side switch with 36V input, 300mA/600mA output current, current monitoring function, and it is available in the industry’s smallest package HSNT-8 (2030). You can use it to improve safety with a simple circuit configuration by detecting connection errors such as broken wire, short circuit, et cetera and/or for ADAS ECU downsizing.
Although many MCU’s have built-in watchdog timer, an external watchdog timer provides higher safety because it is monitoring the MCU software function independent from the MCU. The S-19400/1 series comes as well in a space-saving package and with its top-class low current consumption it will keep the ECU board size and current consumption almost unchanged.
The S-191L/N series is perfect for input voltage monitoring of ADAS ECUs because it is more than a standard voltage detector covering Undervoltage and Overvoltage detection, and a unique Supply Voltage Divided Output. All these functions contribute to a high level of functional safety during ECU operation. Also, it is qualified to AEC-Q100 Grade1.
The demand for highly reliable connections between ADAS ECUs and external sensors/antennas has further been increasing. This video highlights an overview of ADAS and V2X, and introduce ABLIC’s automotive ICs, including the new connection diagnostic IC, that meet their demand.
In order to realize functional safety, the importance of voltage monitoring as a failure detection function (safety mechanism) of the ECU and the use of the ABLIC’s automotive voltage detector as a safety mechanism reduce the number of parts and standby current. In addition, we will introduce how to realize even higher precision monitoring.
